The product
Does this soften hard water?
No. Hardness is dissolved calcium and magnesium. Taking those out requires ion exchange, which means a salt based softener plumbed into your house. No showerhead filter does it, including the expensive ones, and any shower filter sold to you as a hard water fix is being sold dishonestly. Softfall filters chlorine. It does not touch hardness.
What does it actually filter?
Chlorine and chloramine, which are what a public water system adds at the treatment plant to keep the water safe on the way to your house. By the time it reaches your shower you no longer need them. The cartridge sits inside the head and the water passes through it on the way out.
How do I know it is working?
Take the cartridge out and look at it. A used cartridge next to a new one is the evidence we offer, and it is the only evidence we are willing to offer.
Why is there no percentage anywhere on this site?
Because we have not earned one. There is a real US standard for shower filter performance, NSF/ANSI 177, and a filter that has passed it carries the mark and a listing you can look up yourself. Softfall has not been through it.
Other sellers in this category print numbers like 96 percent removal that trace back to a single lab test they paid for, run once, on water that is not yours. We would rather hand you the cartridge.
Does it help with dry skin, dandruff, eczema or hair loss?
We make no health claims of any kind. Some brands in this category do, and back them with studies they paid for. We have not run one, so we are not going to imply we have. Softfall filters your shower water. What that is worth to you is your call.
How often do I change the cartridge?
When it has visibly discolored. How quickly that happens depends entirely on what is in your water and how long you shower, so we will not quote you a number of months we cannot back up. Replacement cartridges are $24 and change by hand.
What is the spray like?
Three panels. A soft panel with 230 holes at 0.35 mm that splits the flow into fine jets, a pressure boosted panel for a harder spray, and a third panel you can take off and rinse out when it starts to clog.
Fitting it
Will it fit my shower?
If your shower arm takes a standard half inch thread, and nearly every US shower arm does, then yes.
Do I need a plumber?
No, and you do not need tools either. Unscrew the old head by hand, wrap the thread with plumber's tape if you have some, and turn Softfall on. Run it for a minute afterwards and check the joint for drips. About two minutes in total.
What is the difference between the sets?
The showerhead on its own threads straight onto a fixed shower arm. Add the hose and you can take it off the wall and use it handheld. The set with the wall bracket gives you somewhere to hang it when you do.
Ordering and delivery
How long will my order take?
1 to 3 business days to process, then 7 to 15 business days in transit. Roughly 8 to 18 business days in total. It ships directly from our manufacturing partner overseas, which is what keeps the price where it is. If you need something in two days, we are honestly not the right shop for you.
How much is shipping?
Free, on every order, with no minimum.
Do you ship outside the US?
Not right now. United States only.
Will I be charged customs or duties?
No. Duties and taxes are handled before the parcel reaches you. If a carrier ever asks you for a payment on delivery, do not pay it. Email us first.
My tracking has not updated. Is something wrong?
Probably not. Tracking often takes 2 to 5 days to start showing scans after you get the number, and it can go quiet mid journey. If it has not moved in 10 business days, email us and we will chase it.
Returns
What if I do not like it?
Send it back within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. Email us with your order number and we will send return instructions. You cover return postage for a change of mind. We cover it if anything is wrong with the item.
What if it arrives faulty or damaged?
Email us with your order number and a photo. We will replace it or refund you, your choice, and you may not need to send anything back.
Can I return a cartridge?
If it is unused and still sealed, yes, within the same 30 days. Once a cartridge has had water through it we cannot resell it, so used cartridges are not returnable. The showerhead itself is returnable either way.
